Phonics at Silchester
At Silchester we use a scheme called Read Write Inc to teach phonics. Children in Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 have daily phonics sessions where they learn the 44 common sounds and how to sound-blend words, alongside letter formation and spelling. We also use ‘Cued Articulation' to help children understand how the sound is formed orally.
