Silchester Oaks

Silchester Oaks

Welcome to The Oaks.

We offer breakfast and after school clubs at Mortimer St. John’s Infant School, Mortimer St. Mary’s Junior School, Burghfield St. Mary’s Primary School and Silchester Primary School. The Oaks Club was started over 15 years ago and has evolved from one club run by volunteer parents to a community interest company running 6 clubs over three sites with over 200 children being looked after by a friendly, professional team.

Our Clubs provide a fun, safe place for children to play before and after their school day. We work closely with the schools, parents and children to provide continuity of care and to create an environment that works for each child.

Working with Parents

All parents want to know that their child is safe and happy while in our care. Our staff are very experienced at working with children of all ages. We aim to make their time at the club as relaxing and fun as possible and will spend time getting to know them and what they enjoy doing.

Familiar Location: Silchester Oaks breakfast and after school clubs are held in the school hall at Silchester Primary School. This helps your child relax in familiar surroundings after a full school day. We facilitate and oversee outside play in all but the most extreme of weather conditions. Our staff have a positive attitude to the outdoor environment and physical activity.

Child-led play: Your child decides whether they want to run around outside, draw with friends or chill out quietly with a book. Our staff support children to relax and have fun, whatever their needs or interests.

Healthy food: Breakfasts and snacks after school are healthy and varied. We can accommodate any dietary requirements or preferences.

Expert staff: Our team are carefully selected to bring a wide range of skills and experience to each club. Across the clubs, our team have may years of combined professional childcare experience and all have regular updates to their training and development. All staff are subject to enhanced DBS checks prior to employment.

Breakfast Club – Early Silchester Oaks

Children can be dropped off at the school hall from 7.30am. A wide range of breakfast choices including fresh fruit, cereal, yogurt and water is provided to prepare the children for the day ahead. After having time to play children then make their way to their classrooms ready to start the school day.

A session costs £6.75 a day.

After School Club – Silchester Oaks

Silchester Oaks after school club runs from the end of the school day until 18:00. We are based in the school hall and children can come straight to the club or via one the school-led clubs first. A wide range of healthy snacks are on offer so that the children can eat and drink as they choose.

A session costs £13.25 a day and we offer a sibling and full time discounted rate of £12.75 a session

Often the biggest complaint from our parents is that their child won’t come home because they are having too much fun!

If you are interested in registering your child with the Oaks please complete the Registration Pack which can be accessed via the link or contact our office on office@theoakschildcare.co.uk or 0118 933 2960.  Please note that our Office Manager typically works between 10am and 1pm each day, so please leave a message or email outside of these times.
