Geography
At Silchester, we want all children to be curious and fascinated about the world and its people. Children are taught geography through a purposeful, progressive and challenging curriculum. Children will be able to locate countries and oceans around the world and locate the cities and regions of the United Kingdom. They will be able to describe and understand key aspects of human and physical geography.
Lessons will provide opportunities for children to explore their local areas through field studies and investigation. They will learn to use a variety of resources to observe, research and record their fieldwork.
The Silchester Geographer will:
·Collect, analyse and communicate a range of data.
·Interpret a range of sources of geographical information
·Communicate geographical information in a variety of ways
·Identify seasonal and daily weather patterns
·Use compass directions and grid references
